It's never too early to teach your tweens and teens about thrifty shopping. Have them clean out their closets, bring their stuff in to N2N for store credit (don't bring it for them- they need to see the process) and then turn them loose in the shop with a store credit all their own.
I love that "light bulb" moment when a young person realizes they can get awesome name brand apparel for what feels like FREE!
We do store credit buying on a walk-in basis
Monday-Thursday from 10 am to 4 pm.
Call 770-534-9070 for more details.
What's on Sale?
Let's do the wild card sale again...with a whole new deck of cards! This time we'll be adding categories like "30% off anything blue" and "50% off any one item of you choice."
As always, there'll be a card with 30% off your entire purchase!
Latest Columns
My husband, Arthur, and I each write twice-a-month columns for The Times here in Gainesville. His deal with computing and technology issues. Mine deal with whatever strikes my fancy.
Arthur's latest was published on October 16th. Click here to read his thoughts about buying refurbished technology.
My October 15th column is a "now you know the rest of the story" epilogue to the column I wrote about Georgia Power Company in August.
Nothing ruins your life forever. NOTHING
My friend Harry Bloch posted this essay's link on Face Book. It was written by a mother as an open letter to her daughter after the suicide of a New Jersey college student who killed himself because his room-mate posted an explicit videotape of him.
Please click here to read it and then have your kids read it. It makes a point that I haven't seen emphasized in any of the hundreds of editorials that have been published since this tragedy: Nothing ruins your life forever. NOTHING.
Free Novel
This offer will only be active for a few days, so don't delay.

North Hall High School's Hollow Horse Players present "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown," at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 19, 20 and 21.
Though considered a "good man" by his friends, Charlie Brown can't seem to win the heart of the Little Red-Haired Girl. His friend, Lucy, has similar difficulties with her crush, the piano-playing Schroeder. Meanwhile Snoopy and Linus daydream and the rest of the friends battle with kites, school, baseball and misunderstandings before finally coming to realize what makes them truly happy.
This is a wonderful first theatre experience for little ones. Load up the minivan and bring the whole crew to see this high-energy heart-warming production! The buzz around North hall is that this is going to be one of their best productions ever!
FUNdraiser!
Family TIES ("Teaching, informing, empowering and supporting today's families") is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping families provide a safe, nurturing and positive environment for their children and teenagers. Their programs seek to educate prenatal parents and parents with children up to age 18. They serve families who are wishing to improve their parenting skills as well as families who are incarcerated or mandated by DFCS or the court system.
You can support Family TIES by getting in on the 50/50 raffle! As part of the yearly Diamonds and Denim fundraiser, we're selling raffle tickets for $5.00 each. At the fundraiser on Nov. 13th (see last week's Next to Newsletter for more about that), one ticket will be drawn- the winner gets HALF of the proceeds for the raffle ticket sales, with the other half going to Family TIES. You don't have to be present to win. You can get your raffle tickets at N2N. Just think- the odds of winning are SO much better than the lottery!

He writes a column on computer care for The Times every other Saturday. You can visit his blog at http://computerhousecalls.blogspot.com/ to see an archive of columns, searchable by keywords.
Most times he will have your computer back to you within two days and his rates include a free follow-up phone consultation.
