What's on sale?
My husband, Arthur, and I each write twice-a-month columns for The Times here in Gainesville. His deal with computing and technology issues. Mine deal with whatever strikes my fancy.
Arthur's latest was published on August 6. Click here to read " Beware of costly email scams."
Greek goodness
No longer just for Mediterranean restaurants or health food junkies, Greek yogurt has gone mainstream in just a few years. Why the sudden love for this dairy product? Many people prefer Greek yogurt for its high protein, tangy flavor and thick texture. Not to mention the fact that Greek yogurt tends to have much less sugar than conventional yogurt. You can use Greek yogurt in so many sweet and savory recipes. And if you opt for low-fat or fat-free Greek yogurt, you can make many of your favorite dishes much healthier.

Whatcha Eatin'?
Thanks so much to everyone who contributed to the BAKE SALE FOR BILLY. He's now home and resting. Healing will take a long time but he's making some headway.
Your contributions to the sale gave his wife, Pennie, the funds to travel back and forth to be with him at the hospital and that helped a lot.
One of our bake sale items was a particular hit and it's probably the easiest of all to make. Plus, if you're cutting calories, each cupcake is only 65 calories and if you're on Weight Watchers, they're only 2 Points+.
Pineapple Angel Food Cupcakes
It's this easy: mix one box of angel food cake mix and one 20 oz can of crushed pineapple (undrained) together. That's all. No other ingredients or liquid. Line 24 standard muffin tin cups with paper liners, then spray with Pam and fill. Bake at 350 for 12-14 minutes. They're great served with cut up fruit and whipped topping.
