Morning, everybody!

It's another day of golden opportunity! Here at N2N, we've been busy, busy, busy putting out summer inventory- lots of goodies for everyone. Come on by and check it out!

What's new at N2N?

Golly gee, we've gotten in lots...the cash buying has nearly doubled the size of our scrubs rack. We've gotten in bigger kid's clothes, shoes, shorts and capris and baby clothes. We have lots of books on cassette and CD to make those long vacation road trips seem shorter.

We've suddenly had a big demand for swimsuits, especially for men and boys. Folks are going over to the Frances Meadows Center to swim, only to discover that they can't be admitted if they're not wearing a REAL swimsuit. Shorts just don't cut it. So...be sure to bring in all your surplus swimsuits when you come in to trade.

It's time for markdowns at N2N- and a

There's CA$H in your closet!

Each week, we'll be doing cash buying for one area in the shop that really needs inventory. For the second week, it's SCRUBS.

Here's how it works... bring your scrubs that are in perfect condition. We'll buy them for cash. You can bring in other clothing and accessories as well- we'll buy them for credit as usual. Please pack your scrubs separately and let us know that you have cash items when you come in. Buying hours are the same: Monday thru Thursday 10AM to 4PM and other times by prior arrangement.

We'll be buying scrubs for cash all week- through Thursday, June 4th. Check next week's newsletter to see what the next buy-for-cash department will be.

Two Thumbs Up

The other night I gave in to my insomnia and started watching TV. Since the only things playing at 3 AM are Sham-Wow informercials and 15 year-old episodes of Law and Order, I started looking on the Internet. On NBC.com, I discovered an awesome series. I don't remember ever seeing promos for it when it ran on network TV. It's called "Kings".

It's based on the King David story from the Old Testament, but set in the 21st century. There's King Silas Benjamin (King Saul of the tribe of Benjamin, first king of Israel), David Shepherd (David, the shepherd), the king’s son Jack (Jonathan), his daughter Michelle (Michal), and the Rev. Ephraim Samuels (the Prophet Samuel). It's filmed in New York City which has been turned into the city of Shiloh in the country of Gilboa. The writers have created a kingdom that's familiar, with taxis and plasma TVs and all the trappings of modern day but with biblical allusions at every turn. The Goliath in the show is a huge tank that David, a soldier, destroys in order to save a hostage who turns out to be the king's son. Then it really gets interesting.

There are five full episodes available online and the series resumes in June. Click
here to view.

Ride for Paws

Gainesville Motorsports & Humane Society of Hall County are hosting the second Annual “Ride for Paws” Motorcycle Ride. It's at Gainesville Motorsports, 2750 Browns Bridge Rd. in Gainesville (770 532-7083.) It's Saturday, July 25. Registration is from 9:00 am-10:00 am. The ride starts around 10:30 am and goes to approximately noon.

All bikers are welcome and there is a $25.00 entry fee per biker. Extra riders are also welcome at $10.00 per rider. Both entry fees include a free custom designed T-shirt. Smokehouse BBQ will be there with their wonderful BBQ. There will also be various vendors, silent auctions, and a 50/50 raffle!

Well, my tentative entry into the brave new world of blogging seemed to go well- at least no one complained about it. I also blogged a couple of Hot Flashes.

Starting next week, instead of receiving the usual email newsletter, you'll receive a short note with a link to click to go to the newsletter blog. I think this will be an improvement in a number of ways.

First, sometimes pictures or links don't travel well from one ISP to another. This way, all of the images and links will show up on everyone's screen.

Second, it will be easier for moi- I send out the newsletter in batches, so that's about 20 emails each week. This way, I won't have that long wait as pictures load in each outgoing email. Quick and easy- that's a winner in my book.

Plus, it's interactive- feel free to leave comments, suggest other links and just let everyone know how and what you're doing...

So, please bookmark this
site and feel free to visit often. I'll be adding Hot Flashes and other items of interest during the week.

What's On Sale?

Let's do the Wild Card Sale again. Pick a card to find out where your 30% off discount is. It could be pants and shorts, shoes and bags, infant wear, dresses and sets, even storewide...who knows? And we believe in do-overs. If you don't like your first card, feel free to draw again!

There's CA$H in your closet!

Since the economy began it's precipitous nosedive, N2N has been doing all of it's buying in exchange for credit in the shop. That move has kept us solvent and in business while so many other shops have folded.

Now, we've decided to stick our toes back into the cash buying waters...each week, we'll be doing cash buying for one area in the shop that really needs inventory. This week, it's SCRUBS.

Here's how it works... bring your scrubs that are in perfect condition. We'll buy them for cash. You can bring in other clothing and accessories as well- we'll buy them for credit as usual. Computer Camp

If you’re still scrambling to come up with ideas for occupying the kids this summer, you might want to check out these
free Apple Summer Workshops for kids 8-12. Apple Stores across the country will be providing kids with computers, digital cameras, and camcorders to help them create and produce digital masterpieces, such as slideshows, movies, and songs. They have a Camp Permission Statement with some additional fine print, but it sounds like a pretty cool activity to me. Click here to find the closest Apple store.

Golf Tournament

The Gainesville Evening Optimist Club is sponsoring it's annual Youth Golf Tournament this Thursday, May 28th. It's at Chicopee Woods Golf Course, with an 8 AM tee time. Morning, everybody!

This is SO exciting! Starting today, the Next to Newsletter is available in BLOG format! It'll make for an easy archive. Ever wanted to go back to the Free Rice game or locate a link from an old newsletter that's no longer in your saved email? No longer a problem! The newsletters will be easily archived- just scroll back to find the one you want.

The most exciting aspect to me is the ability for readers to comment on the newsletter- add suggestions, thrifty links, anything! It'll feel much like the community we are.

I'll continue sending out the email newsletter while I get a better handle on this blogging stuff. After that, if all goes well, I'll be sending a link each week to the blog...IF all goes well.
Anybody have experience using Blogspot? If you do, I'd love to meet up with you somewhere like Panera where there's an Internet hotspot and pick your brain. There's lunch in it for you so please give me a call.

So...here's the blog. Look it over, click on the comment envelope at the end of the post and let me know what you think.
