Next to Newsletter- Monday, March 5, 2012

Thanks so much to all of you who made our First Friday sale such a success!
Now that we have some extra space on the racks, we're hard at work stocking lots more spring inventory. There'll be plenty to choose from so come on by!

What's on Sale?

Monday-Tuesday: 30% OFF Ladies Pants, Shorts and Capris
Wednesday- Thursday: 30% OFF Men's Shirts
Friday-Saturday-Sunday: WILD CARD!

Many of you know about the Coke Lady (so named because of her employer.) She always brings wonderful plus sizes and she came back on Sunday (3-4) night! She brought over 150 tops, capris, shorts, costume jewelry, purses and a HUGE shopping bag of brand new panty hose. Most are high end name brands like Ralph Lauren, Coldwater Creek and Talbots; many still have the tags on them. Sizes are 2X, 3X, 22 and 24.
We'll be hard at work on Monday morning getting them processed. Come early to get the best selection!

Cleaning out closets? Here's the 411 on our buying program:

Do the first cut for us. Don't bring anything with problems...spots, stains, smelly, outdated...you know the drill.

We do our store credit buying Monday thru Thursday from 10 am to 4 pm. You don't need an appointment but our buying is on a first come, first served basis so you may have to wait a few minutes (Hint: we have TWO buyers here on Monday and Wednesday so if you're pressed for time, those days are your best bet.)

As a rule, we don't buy on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. There's often only one employee in the shop and it's impossible to give our customers the attention they deserve if we're up front buying. Thanks for understanding.

We want to buy your clothes. If your schedule prevents you from coming in during normal buying hours, just give me a call (my cell # is 770-539-1911) and we'll work out a time.

New Columns!

My husband, Arthur, and I each write twice-a-month columns for The Times here in Gainesville. His deal with computing and technology issues. Mine deal with whatever strikes my fancy. As you can tell, our minds were on the same topic when we wrote our most recent columns.

Arthur's Computer Care column "Let a computer sleep or turn it off?" was published on March 3rd. There's been a snafu with The Times website and as of right now, it's not online but you can click here to read it on read it on Arthur's bog.

My latest column ran on March 2nd. Click here to read "An early spring we didn't earn."

Coupons!

Don't forget the next Extreme Couponing workshop on Tuesday, March 6th at 4:00 p.m. at the downtown branch of the Hall County Library. Bring any of your extra coupons to swap.

This is a great video from a bluegrass festival. In the middle of a song, a little bird flies down and lights on the guitar- and stays to finish the number!
Priceless! Click here.

Last Sunday, our Rachel placed first in the Gainesville Evening Optimist Club's Oratorical Competition.

The topic was "How my optimism helps me overcome obstacles"

My favorite line from her speech? "Optimism is my superpower."

Next is the Zone competition on Saturday, March 24 in Cumming. Good luck, Rach!

Whatcha Eatin'?

Early last Sunday morning, I had to make a dessert to take to a meeting. I was still in my pajamas and I didn't feel like going to the store, so I started looking around in the pantry, taking stock of what we had on hand and searching the Internet for a recipe that used those ingredients.

What I ended up with was Pumpkin Pecan Pie Bars. They're delicious with a buttery oatmeal/granola type crust and a chiffony layer made from pumpkin, sweetened condensed milk and eggs. It was a hit and it's now on my list of things to make often. Click here to give it a try.
