A weekly publication of Next to New Resale Boutique
Now that school's started back, we're gearing up for fall just as fast as we can. Stop in soon to get a jump on cool-weather shopping. There's still a great selection of summer items, too...and awesome discounts!

Shoes...we can never have too many shoes!
Men's casual wear
While you shop, we will go through your items and accept what we can. Store credit buying is done on a first-come, first-served basis so you may encounter a short wait at times. There is a two bag limit, so things generally move along quickly.
Next to New opened it's doors in 1986. After 23 years (20 of those in our current location) we're still greeting new customers every day. The present economy is encouraging even more people to find alternatives to full-price shopping. We'd like to help the process along a little and here's what you can do to be part of it:
We're offering a $5.00 store credit to you any time you bring us a new shopper. It's easy. Just bring in your friends who've never tried N2N shopping. When they check out at the register, we'll give YOU a $5.00 credit on the spot. It gets even easier- you don't have to come with them. Just have your friends tell us you sent them and we'll hold a credit for you at the register until you stop by to pick it up. Each week we'll publish a list in the Next to Newsletter of everyone who has a credit waiting for them. Note: these promotional credits are only good for 2 weeks so hurry in to pick them up.
THEN- at the end of the month (starting September 30th) we'll hold a drawing of names of everyone who brought us new shoppers. That winner gets a $50.00 store credit. Also, if you brought us the MOST new shoppers, you'll get a $50.00 store credit.
Let's work to get the word out: friends don't let friends pay retail!
Yard Sale!
After 15 years in the same house and 6 years in the same warehouse, it's time to clean out. You're invited to the Glazer family's yard sale, Saturday, August 29th from 8 am to 2 pm.
It'll be at our warehouse, located in the basement of Hall Book Exchange, 1854 Thompson Bridge Rd (just pull around back). HBE owner Myra and some of her family will be selling things, too, so stop by for great bargains on a myriad of items: televisions, furniture, surplus fixtures, knick knacks, paddy whacks, you name it!
In case you were wondering, Arthur and Rachel will be operating the yard sale...I'll be hard at work at N2N, as usual.
New Columns!
My husband, Arthur, and I each write twice-a-month columns for The Gainesville Times.
His deal with computing and technology issues.
Mine deal with whatever strikes my fancy.
His latest was published on August 15th. Click here to read Arthur's piece on the hidden costs of free programs.
My August 7th column is about turning 55. Click here to read it.
Deja Vu All Over Again
Last week, Good Morning America featured a piece about how to get back-to-school clothes for your kids without spending a cent. How? By trading in like-new items for store credit! Sound familiar? It feels SO good to be ahead of the curve! Click here to see their take on resale shopping.
15 Already!
For Rachel's 15th birthday, we're buying a lovely cookie cake at Publix, sort of like this:
That got me to thinking about all of the cakes that don't turn out so well...like this one:
