Otter Cam!

The Live Sea Otter Cam at the Vancouver Aquarium is addictive! Click here to watch Milo and Tanu as they cavort and go about their daily activities. Milo the otter is well known on YouTube and you may see him and Tanu holding paws. That is something Milo likes to initiate (awwwww!). If they are out of range, just wait a while and then come back.

They will eventually come into view.

Best Ever Chocolate Pudding

There are certain foods that many of us almost NEVER make from scratch...breakfast cereal, crackers, the list goes on. One of those products is pudding. I recently checked my pantry and there were six boxes of Jell-O pudding mix on the shelves. Then I came across this recipe. I've made the powdered stuff for so long, I'd forgotten what the real deal tastes like. There's no comparison! Whip up this delight and see if you don't agree:

1 cup white sugar
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 cups milk
2 (1 ounce) squares unsweetened chocolate, chopped
2 egg yolks
2 tablespoons butter
2 teaspoons vanilla

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine sugar, cornstarch and salt. Stir in milk and chocolate. Cook, stirring constantly, until chocolate melts and mixture thickens. Remove from heat and stir in egg yolks. Return to heat and cook 2 minutes more. Remove from heat and stir in butter and vanilla. Chill before serving.

Bathroom Break

What WILL they think of next?
  • The mission of RunPee.com is to help you enjoy your movie going experience and relieve your bladder at the same time...

    • Every movie has a few scenes in there somewhere that aren’t crucial to the plot, or can be easily summed up for you on the RunPee site.
    • Every movie has a few minutes you can miss and not be lost when you sit back down.
    • No more guessing when to run to the bathroom.
    Just log on and click the name of the movie you're planning on seeing. The site will tell you how many minutes into the feature the break is and how long you have to make it to the bathroom and back.

  • Wise Words

    To laugh often and much;
    To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children;
    To earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends;
    To appreciate beauty, to find the best in others;
    To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition;
    To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived.
    This is to have succeeded.

    -Bessie Stanley (often attributed to Ralph Waldo Emerson)

    Weekly This and That

    Remember to bring in your plastic grocery bags to recycle and register to win a $25.00 store credit.

    January's winner was Bobby Jones (although his wife, Joyce, spent the bulk of the credit- good work, Joyce!)

    Here's Bobby being awarded his certificate in a solemn ceremony presided over by Lisa.

    Get a $5.00 store credit to you any time you bring us a new shopper. It's easy. Just bring in your friends who've never tried N2N shopping. When they check out at the register, we'll give YOU a $5.00 credit on the spot.

    Let's work to get the word out: friends don't let friends shop retail!
