Columns!
My husband, Arthur, and I each write twice-a-month columns for The Times here in Gainesville. His deal with computing and technology issues. Mine deal with whatever strikes my fancy.
His latest was published on July 10th. Click here to read about the differences between updates and upgrades.
I took a break from writing last week. My next column will run on July 23.
In the meantime, you can click here to see a piece I wrote in 2008 about asinine product warnings.
SCAM WARNING
The "truth" about a new Facebook campaign purporting to reveal the "truth" about Coca Cola is this: it's a scam designed to steal your personal information. The digital security firm Sophos exposed the scam- click here to see what they found out.

Recipe of the Week
This week's recipe comes from Joanne Phelps, always a source for inspired cooking ideas. Here's a great appetizer that's as tasty as it its easy:
Spinach Crescents
1 tbsp. slivered almonds
1- 10 oz. pkg. frozen chopped spinach, thawed and drained
3 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
2 tbsp. finely chopped onion
2 tsp. olive oil
1 pkg. refrigerated crescent rolls
sesame seeds (optional)
In a food processor, blend almonds until finely ground. add spinach, cheese, onions and oil. Blend until a paste forms. Unroll and separate crescent rolls into triangles. Spread each triangle with spinach mix. Roll up. Place, point down, in an ungreased baking sheet. Sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake at 375 degrees for 13 minutes.
Wise Words (Sorta)

All of our Facebook friends who were signed up by July 15th were entered in a drawing to receive a FREE Computer House Calls Laptop Tune-Up. The lucky winner was Madeline D. Congratulations!
We'll be doing more drawings for credits and other goodies on a regular basis, so be sure to get in on the action!
Remember to bring in your plastic grocery bags to recycle and register to win a $25.00 store credit. June's winner was Louise M. Congratulations, Louise!
Get a $5.00 store credit any time you bring us a new shopper. It's easy. Just bring in your friends who've never tried N2N shopping. When they check out at the register, we'll give YOU a $5.00 credit on the spot.
Let's work to get the word out: friends don't let friends shop retail!
...and don't forget Senior Discount Day- each Monday, everyone 55 and over gets 30% off their cash purchases.
Computer Problems?
Arthur can fix your computer, rid it of viruses and malware or tune it up for you. He'll make it run faster than it did when you first bought it. You can drop it off at N2N or he can do a house call. He writes a column on computer care for The Times every other Saturday. You can visit his blog at http://computerhousecalls.blogspot.com/ to see an archive of columns, searchable by keywords.
Most times he will have your computer back to you within two days and his rates include a free follow-up phone consultation.
Call Computer House Calls at 770-540-5100 or email him at arthur@glazerthepctech.com. Your computer will thank you.
That's it for now. Remember-email goes both ways...
If you run across any exceptional bargains or impressive new products, let us know. We'll put the word out!
BTW- this week's happy "What's Up?" model is Ginger Glazer who was adopted from the Hall County Animal Shelter last February. Lucky, lucky us!
Have a remarkable week!
