 New Columns!

My husband, Arthur, and I each write twice-a-month columns for The Times here in Gainesville. His deal with computing and technology issues. Mine deal with whatever strikes my fancy.

My column, "Life without books, music is 'eh' " ran on Friday, June 22nd.

I also had a column published on June 29th. Click here to read "What's missing in bus video? A grown-up to take control"

Arthur's column, " Cleaning your startup will speed up your boot time" was published June 23rd. Click here to read it.
Consign Online!

Have an awesome designer bag you're not carrying anymore? An original Cabbage Patch Kid? A pair of Jimmy Choos that don't fit? Other high end apparel or collectibles? Email me. I'm taking consignments to list on eBay.
I've been selling there since 1999. I'm a top-rated Power Seller with a 100% positive feedback rating (and that's from over 11,000 feedbacks!) Let me put my expertise and reputation to work for you. Just drop me an email at with a brief description of what you have to sell and I'll get right back to you.

New Skills, Made Easy

The web is a powerful resource that can easily help you learn new stuff, whether it's DIY crafts, technology tricks, home improvements or any number of other skills.  You just have to know where to look.  Sure, you can use Google, Yahoo, or Bing to search for sites where you can learn new skills, but this link saves you some time.

Movie Night!

One of my favorite summer activities is the Arts Council's Movies on the Green at the Arts Depot in downtown Gainesville.

Movies begin at dusk on a 35 foot inflatable screen. The gates open at 7:30 pm so that you and your family can enjoy a host of fun activities before the movie including face painting, magicians, art stations and a jump house. There are also food vendors selling everything from hot dogs and pizza to popcorn and ice cream.Bring your quilts, lawn chairs, picnics and frisbees out to enjoy an evening under the stars.

This summer's movies include  "16-Love" (July 13) starring Gainesville's own Chandler Massey (who was recently awarded a Daytime Emmy for his work on "Days of Our Lives")  and "The Lorax." (August 24th).
