The Coke Lady's Back!

Great news! Many of you know about the Coke Lady (so named because of her employer)- she brings wonderful plus size fashions and size 9-9.5-10 shoes. We haven't seen her since last Spring- she's been recovering from knee surgery.

She brought us a car load of awesome on Saturday (September 5.) I think it's the most she's ever brought in one trip. There's everything- tops, bottoms, jackets, scarves, purses, costume jewelry (you asked for it, Janet, you've got it!), 40 pairs of shoes, dresses...and many still with the retail tags!

They'll be ready for you to see by the time we open on Sunday at 1 PM. Plan on stopping in early- these things won't last long!

Columns

My husband, Arthur, and I each write twice-a-month columns for The Gainesville Times. His deal with computing and technology issues. Mine deal with whatever strikes my fancy.

His most recent piece was published on August 15th. Click here to read Arthur's piece on the hidden costs of free programs.

My September 4th column is about the great folks at East Hall Middle School. Click here to read it.

September is National Yoga Month!

Here's a great offer for those of you feeling the stress of these, well, stressful times. Terri Bishop is an artist, teacher and yoga instructor. She's offering a FREE yoga class at Bethel United Methodist Church in Dawsonville (near the outlet mall).

Contact Terri at tabishop03@hotmail.com for times and other details. Namaste!

Book Launch!

Rachel and Carmen Agra Deedy

Carmen Agra Deedy, internationally acclaimed storyteller and children’s book author, will launch and discuss her book, “14 Cows for America,” at 7 PM Tuesday (September 8) at Brenau's Pierce Auditorium. Admission is free, but come early- it will fill up FAST.

“14 Cows for America,” is the inspiring story of the Maasai tribe in Kenya that provided a selfless love gift to the American people in the aftermath of the Sept. 11, 2001, tragedy. Ms. Deedy will sign “14 cows for America” and other titles in the Presidents Gallery adjacent to Pearce Auditorium following her presentation.

Last year, our Rachel won a mantel full of trophies and was an alternate to National competition for her interpretation of Ms. Deedy's "Martina the Beautiful Cockroach." Click
here to see her performance.

Free Museum Admission- Thanks, Smithsonian!

Enjoy free general admission for you and a guest to hundreds of museums and cultural venues nationwide on Saturday, September 26, 2009. It's compliments of
Smithsonian Magazine.

Click here to see the Georgia venues (they include the Racing Museum in Dawsonville, Quinlan Visual Arts Center in Gainesville and the Folk Pottery Museum in Sautee) Click here to see all of the venues. Mega-Bargain

Coupon Saving Game gave us heads up on an awesome upcoming Register Reward deal at Walgreens.

The week of September 13-19, Walgreens will have the True North Nut Crisps or Clusters snacks on sale for $3. The best part--they will generate a $3 Register Reward-- making them FREE! And even better news, you can use the $1/1 coupon from here to make $1 purchasing these! I absolutely love these nuts, so getting them for FREE and then actually making some money back is just so exciting!

Catch a Rising Star!

Kayanne and Abit Massey's grandson, Chandler, is making steady progress in his Hollywood acting career. Last week (August 30) he appeared in an episode of Lifetime's "Army Wives." You can click
here to see the episode. Chandler's appearances are at 15:50 and 20:30.

He's now attending college in Los Angeles and auditioning regularly so we'll be seeing much more of this talented young man. We'll keep you posted.

PSA Vote

The U.S. Department of Health & Human Services began a contest for the best public service announcement (PSA) about H1N1, often called swine flu. They had about 200 entries and they’ve been narrowed down to 10. You can watch the entries and vote on your favorite. You have until September 16, 2009 to vote.

I'm partial to the “H1N1 Rap by Dr. Clarke.” I think you’ll like it.

Just go to the YouTube USGOVHH Channel to see all the videos.

So True...

Weekly this 'n' that

Remember to bring in your plastic grocery bags to recycle and register to win a $25.00 store credit.

If you'd like to be added to the N2N Hot Flash list and receive freebie and bargain alerts during the week, just email me at

Each week, we'll be doing cash buying for one area in the shop that really needs inventory. This week, it's MEN'S JEANS.

We'll be buying jeans for cash all week- through Thursday, September 3rd. Check next week's newsletter to see what the next buy-for-cash department will be.

Get a $5.00 store credit to you any time you bring us a new shopper. It's easy. Just bring in your friends who've never tried N2N shopping. When they check out at the register, we'll give YOU a $5.00 credit on the spot.

THEN- at the end of the month (starting September 30th) we'll hold a drawing of names of everyone who brought us new shoppers. That winner gets a $50.00 store credit. Also, if you brought us the MOST new shoppers, you'll get a $50.00 store credit.

Let's work to get the word out: friends don't let friends shop retail!
