Wow, time's flying...Passover starts on Monday night, next Sunday is Easter, then there's Spring break. School will be out before you know it.

Cleaning out closets? Here's the 411 on our buying program:
Do the first cut for us. Don't bring anything with problems...spots, stains, smelly, outdated...you know the drill.
We do our store credit buying Monday thru Thursday from 10 am to 4 pm. You don't need an appointment but our buying is on a first come, first served basis so you may have to wait a few minutes (Hint: we have TWO buyers here on Monday and Wednesday so if you're pressed for time, those days are your best bet)

For all you coupon clippers out there, here's a good idea: BUY your coupons!
That's right- get your coupons on eBay! I tried it and was pleased- for $1.59, I got 100 coupons (and that included shipping.) One of the coupons was for a free bag of Hall's cough drops so that alone more than covered my cost.
The trick, as with all eBay transactions, is to check the seller's feedback and wait until the last minute or so to bid. Ask questions before you bid. I make sure the coupons have at least a month before they expire and are for nationally available products, not from stores that are only found in, say, Wyoming and Nebraska.

Green Bean Casserole- from SCRATCH!
This Easter, try making this perennial family dinner classic without opening a single can! You'll be amazed at the difference.
2 (12 ounce) packages frozen French cut green beans
8 ounces mushrooms, quartered
3 tablespoons butter
1 small onion, halved and thinly sliced
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon lemon zest
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 pinch ground black pepper
1/2 cup milk
1 cup sour cream
1/2 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
1 (2.8 ounce) can canned French fried onions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Place green beans into a saucepan and fill with about 1/2 inch of water. Bring to a boil and steam until beans are tender but still bright green, about 5 minutes. Drain and toss with the mushrooms. Set aside.
Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and parsley; cook and stir until onion is tender. Whisk in flour until blended, then mix in the lemon zest, salt, and pepper. Gradually whisk in milk, stirring constantly, so that no lumps form and then stir in sour cream. Warm over medium heat until the sauce begins to bubble. Dump in the green beans and mushrooms, stirring to coat.
Remove from the heat and toss briefly with some of the Cheddar cheese and French fried onions, saving some of each to sprinkle over the top. Spoon into a 1 1/2 quart casserole dish and top with the reserved onions and cheese.
Bake in the preheated oven until the cheese melts, about 15 minutes.
