Good Morning!

We held our storewide 50% off sale early, on April 30th, because we felt like May 7th was just too long to wait. The sale was great and a huge N2N "THANK YOU" goes out to all of you who came by.
Some of our regular First Friday shoppers don't get the Next to Newsletter and let us know, quite rightly, that they had been counting on the sale on the usual day- May 7th. And right they are- so here's what's up: We're going to hold our First Friday Sale on it's usual day...so you get DOUBLE half price shopping this month!

 New columns

My husband, Arthur, and I each write twice-a-month columns for The Gainesville Times. His deal with computing and technology issues. Mine deal with whatever strikes my fancy.
His latest was published on May 1st. Click here to read Arthur's piece on using safe mode to track down problems in your computer. BTW- do you have computer questions and you're not sure who to ask? Drop Arthur an email (support@glazerthepctech.com) or give him a call at 770-540-5100. He'll be happy to help. Don't be shy- he lives for this stuff.

My column on the need to preserve the Governor's Honors Program was published on April 30th. Click here to see it. (BTW- after the column was published, funding was allotted for a 4 week GHP in the summer of 2011...not the 6 week program that needed, but it's better than a stick in the eye!)
 Trojan Triumph!

The Trojan Triumph Festival will be held from 4:30-6:30 p.m. on Saturday May 8. The proceeds benefit the Renaissance program. It will be held in the North Hall High School stadium, 4885 Mount Vernon Road, Gainesville. Admission is free. Time on your hands?

Play Tetris and Scrabble — sorry, "Blockies" and "Letterblox" — with friends or strangers right in your browser window. OMGPOP is like an arcade where you never run out of quarters or people to play with. It's a highly addictive waste of time, even if the games are just copyright rip-offs of old faves.

 What's for Dinner?

Boneless chicken continues to be one of the enduring meat bargains- usually you can find it for under $2.00/ lb. Here's a great recipe that utilizes an unexpected combination of ingredients. Chicken breasts are pounded thin and coated with a mustard mixture, dredged in crushed pretzels, and baked until golden brown in this recipe. Click here to try it.
